Bellevue is a fast emergent city located in the sovereign County of Washington. Bellevue City is home to the Microsoft Founder Bill Gates. It is a calm and serene suburb. It is situated across lake Washington. Formerly, Bellevue was regarded to be a suburb of Seattle. Today, Bellevue is considered to be a large and rapidly growing city maintaining its distinct suburban identity. It is the fifth largest city in the state of Washington. Recently, Bellevue is witnessing a rapid development boom. Many high rise buildings and other projects mainly for office, residential and retail purposes are coming up in Bellevue. Based upon the per-capita income, Bellevue is considered to be the 15th richest amongst 522 rich communities in Washington.

Bellevue History:

William Meydenbauer found the suburb of Bellevue in 1869. It was officially integrated on 21st March 1953. Prior to the 1940?s, Bellevue place was a rural area with little or no development. After the construction of the Washington floating bridge, Bellevue City had a good access to the city of Seattle. Consequently, in all these years, Bellevue City gradually grew into a community, with most of its residents employed in Seattle. After the opening of another bridge in 1963, the city grew more rapidly than ever before and now Bellevue is poised to become a big city with numerous high rise buildings, dotting as the core of the city. One of the records of Bellevues growth can be seen from the opening of Bellevue square, which was built in 1946 and in the years following by, Bellevue Square flourished and in the 1980 ?s a major expansion was noticed.

Bellevue Miscellaneous:

As per the census bureau of United States, Bellevue had a total area of 87.8 square kilometers out of which, 79.6 sq. kilometers is land and the remaining is water. The name of Bellevue is taken from the French word Belle meaning Beautiful and Vue meaning View. Bellevue City is nestled within the scenic Olympic and Cascade mountains. It lies between a small lake Sammamish to the east and Lake Washington to the west. Thanks to the close proximity of Bellevue to the Microsoft home of Redmond and the access to Seattle via highway, Bellevue place has become the hub of large businesses.

Most of these processes had started way back in the 1990's. Various initiatives are taken by the local residents for the improvement of facilities and the well being of the Bellevue community. Prominent amongst them include the Bel-red Corridor, Crossroads center plan, Electrical Facilities planning, Meydenbauer bay project and many more. Almost 32% of the residents in Bellevue City were non-white and majority of the population in Bellevue have come from foreign soil including China, India and other Asian countries. The suburb of Bellevue always urbanized and facilitated in improving the quality of life of its residents. Many more projects are in the conduit for Bellevue. Prominent amongst them is the proposed rail line called the East Link Rail line. This train is bound to run from Seattle-Mercer Island-Bellevue-Redmond. This transit package would be determined by the voters in November 2007.
