Europe stock market
The European stock market is one of the biggest stock markets in the world. Some of the stock markets from Europe were listed under the top 20 stock markets in the world recently. Some of them are Frankfurt stock Exchange, London stock exchange, Milan stock exchange and Swiss exchange. The Frankfurt stock exchange is situated in Frankfurt, Germany.
This is one of the giant and most efficient stock exchanges in the world. It is operated by Deutsche Borse. The Deutsche Borse also owns the European exchange Eurex and Clearstream, a clearing company from Europe. Almost 90 % of the European stock market is governed by the Frankfurt stock exchange. It is one of the oldest stock markets in the world.
The second most dominating market in Europe Stock market is the London Stock Exchange. The stock exchange was opened in 1801 and boasts of being the largest stock exchange in the whole world. The Madrid stock exchange is located in Spain. The stock exchange distributed into different regions namely Bilbao, Valencia and Barcelona. This is the biggest stock exchange in Spain. It is also known as Bolsa de Madrid. It is governed by Bolsas y Mercados Espanoles.
The Madrid stock exchange comprises of fixed income and derivatives market. The Spanish Stock Market Interconnection System (SIBE) handles most of the transactions through the electronic medium. This IBEX 35 indexes is a list of 35 Spanish stocks which are most liquid in a continuous market. Another index called FTSE latibex index is offered by the Madrid stock exchange.
Milan Stock exchange is located in Milan, Italy. Also known as Borsa Italiana it is the largest and principal stock exchange in Italy. The Milan stock exchange was opened in 1997. The ultimate aim of the Milan Stock exchange is to develop the managed markets. The development is achieved by increasing the liquidity, competitiveness and transparency of the stock market. The MOT of the Milan Stock Exchange comprises of trading of non-convertible bonds and government securities. On the other hand, Euro- MOT stands for Euro- Bond Electronic Market. This market trades the bonds from foreign asset backed securities and bonds from foreign issuers.
