Curvetic

Curvetic is an alternative alphabet for English invented by Simon Ager, the author of Omniglot, in June 2007. It is based on simple curved shapes, hence the name, and was influenced so some extent by the Thai alphabet, and also by Canadian Aboriginal Syllabic scripts such as Cree and Ojibwe.

Notable Features

Type of writing system: alphabet
Direction of writing: left to right in horizontal lines. Could also be written in vertical columns running from left to right.
Used to write: English - could be adapted to write other languages.
Unvoiced consonants are flipped versions of the voiced consonants.
The vowels A, I and U can be written above the consonant that precedes them, or above the consonant that follows them if they come at the beginning of a word.
The letters ch, dh, sh, th and zh are optional - they can be used to save space.
