  1. I am leaning in the same direction as Patrick, as I think I hear the word Ojibwe in the clip at 0:14.

    The opening word(s) of the clip sounded, on first hearing, like “Ich bin…” – but after a second or two it becomes quite clear that this is not any kind of German or Germanic dialect and the similarity in sound to these words is merely incidental. The snatches of English (e.g. “University of Minnesota) are clearly North American accented although, from so few words, I find it hard to tell whether the speaker is Canadian or American – but Ojibwe territories exist on both sides of the border anyway.

  2. The answer is Ojibwe (Anishinaabemowin / ᐊᓂᔑᓈᐯᒧᐎᓐ), an Algonquian language spoken in the Canadian provinces of Ontario, Manitoba and Saskatchewan, and in Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Montana and North Dakota in the USA.
