Can you identify the language, and do you know where it’s spoken?

Something tells me it is a Polynesian language but for some reason I also wonder if it isn’t African based. My first instinct is the one about Polynesia though. That’s the fun of these quizzes!
I agree that it sounds Malayo-Polynesian, and probably Polynesian.
I think it is a Polynesian language, because you hear: riva riva, which in Rapa Nui means: well or fine, but I dare not say that it is precisely this language.
I think it could be Austronesian, Malayo-Polynesian (syllable structure, full reduplication, directionals like “mai” etc.), perhaps Oceanic, but not Polynesian proper (because I do not understand anything at all of what is being said). Possibly a creole or pidgin from Melanesia as there is some English influence audible: “however”(?), “term”(?). Wow – hope it’s not from Africa after all 🙂
It’s Motu, spoken in PNG!
We’re in Melanesia!
The answer is Motu, a Western Oceanic language spoken in Papua New Guinea
