A language spoken in East Timor? I first thought it sounds like it’s related to Indonesian, then I heard something like “tentação”, so there must be Portuguese influence.
I agree with Apprenti Polyglotte. Sure sounds like Indonesian with Portuguese overtones. I checked out the “Language Family” section on here but was not able to find anything that seemed similar.
The mystery language is Tetum (Lia-Tetun), a Central-Eastern Malayo-Polynesian language spoken in East Timor (Timor-Leste), and in the West Timor (Timor Barat) in Indonesia.
