Zalig kerstfeest / Nadolig Llawen / С Рождеством / Nollaig chridheil / Joyeux Noël / Nollick Ghennal / Frohe Weihnachten / Nollaig shona daoibh / A Blithe Yule and a Multilingual Merry Christmas to you.
My Dutch studies a sort of on hold this week, but will continue after New Year – I was planning to learn it just for one month, but will continue as I’m enjoying it and finding it fairly easy, a lot easier than Russian, anyway.
How’s your language learning going?
The Latvian greeting is: Priecīgus Ziemassvētkus (priecīgs = joyful; ziema = winter; svētki = festival, festivities).
This name for Christmas is telling of the persistent affinities with pre-Christian traditions in Latvia.
While we’re on non-Christian associations: Freylekhe Kratsmakh!
My Cornish is going well. I’ll start Lakota on 7 Jan for month #2 of my linguistic journey.
Nadelik lowen!
Jij ook een prettige kerst!
