Bulu (Nkobô Bulu)

Bulu is a Bantu language spoken in the South Region of Cameroon, mainly in the towns of Ebolowa and Sangmélima. In 2007 there were about 860,000 native speakers of Bulu, and another 800,000 second language speakers. Bulu is also known as Boulou, and is closely related to Eton, Ewondo and Fang.

Bulu was first written in the 1880s by American missionaries with a version of the Latin alphabet known as l'Alphabet de l'EPC or L'alphabet de l'église presbytérienne du Cameroun (The Alphabet of Prebyterian Church of Cameroon). There is also a way of writing Bulu with l'alphabet général des langues camerounaises (AGLC) or PROPELCA (the General Alphabet of Cameroon Languages), which was developed in the late 1970s.
