Chicahuaxtla Triqui (Nânj nì’ïn)

Chicahuaxtla Triqui is a member of the Mixtecan branch of the Oto-Manguean language family. It is spoken in the state of Oaxaca in southern Mexico, particularly in the districts of Tlaxiaco and Putla.

In 2007 there were about 4,060 speakers of Chicahuaxtla Triqui in the communities of San Andŕes Chicahuaxtla, La Laguna Guadalupe, San Isidro de Morelos, San Marcos Mesoncito, Santa Cruz, Zaragoza, Yosunduchi, La Cãnada Tejocote, Miguel Hidalgo Chicahuaxtla, San José Xochixtlán, Santo Domingo and San Isidro del Estado. The language is also known as Chicahuaxtla Trique, Trike, Trique, Triqui Alto or Triqui de Chicahuaxtla
