Galo (`Galoo)

Galo is a member of the Tani branch of the Sino-Tibetan language family. It is spoken in the states of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam in the northeast of India by about 80,000 people. In particular it is spoken in the districts of Siang, Dibang Valley, Lohit, Changlang and Upper Subansiri.

Galo is also known as Galo Adi, Adi, Adi-Gallong, Gallong or Galong. Dialects include Lare, Pugo and Karka. It is written with the Latin alphabet.
