Dengebu is a member of the Talodi branch of the Niger-Congo language family. It is spoken in the Nuba and Mesakin Hills in Janub Kurdufan state in central Sudan by about 11,700 people. It is also known as Dagig, Masakin, Masakin Dagig, Masakin Gusar or Thakik, and is closely related to Ngile.
Dengebu is taught in some primary schools.
