The Modanite alphabet was constructed by Michael Scott Ramsay, based on the Persian alphabet, as a substitute cipher for the Hanawan language. The Book of the Dead is written in Modanite to conceal its sensitive contents from all but the most motivated initiates. The key to the Modanite cipher is provided below.
