Verical

Verical was created by Arcee Gonepike in 2021, and was originally meant to be a vertical shorthand script for English. Soon enough as the script was being developed, the shorthand part became obsolete, since even though the script had simple shapes for letters and small amounts of strokes per letter, it didn't save time when writing in it.

Notable features

Type of writing system: alphabet
Direction of writing: left to right in vertical columns running from top to bottom
Used to write: English, and can be adapted for other languages that use the Latin alphabet
Verical is very heavy on ligatures, in many cases very long words can be written in just one big cluster of ligatures. There is no completely correct way to write in Verical, but there can be wrong ways.
The ligature formation rules are shown in orange.
Due to its nature, Verical is very easy to stylize and flourish with ornamental additions.
