Mufian

Mufian is a member of the Arapesh branch of the Torricelli language family. It is spoken by about 11,000 people mainly in the Bumbita-Muhian Rural LLG in East Sepik Province in the northwest of Papua New Guinea. It is also spoken in Supari ward of Albiges-Mablep Rural LLG in East Sepik Province.

Mufian is also known as Muhian, Muhiang and Southern Arapesh. Dialects include Supari, Balif, Filifita, Iwam-Nagalemb and Nagipaem. Filifita is spoken by more than half the Mufian people. Mufian is written with the Latin alphabet.
