Novo Tupi Novo Tupi

The Novo Tupi Alphabet is an alternative way to write Old Tupi, a language that was spoken by the Tupi people in Brazil until about the 18th or 19th century, and which developed into Nheengatu (Modern Tupi).

It was created by Luiz Pagano in the 21st century as part of his Tupi Pop project, and is also known as Alfabeto Tupi Pop de Luiz Pagano. He describes as "creating a new national imaginary, able to dialogue with the world with sophistication and originality". According to the Tupi Pop project, Novo Tupi was created in about 1811 by José Francisco Pagano Brundo, however there is no evidence for this.
