Barin (ᠪᠠᠭᠠᠷᠢᠨ)

Barin is a variety of Mongolian spoken by about 110,000 people in the east of the Inner Mongolian Autonomous Region in the north of China. The majority of Barin speakers can be found in Baarin Right Banner, Baarin Left Banner, Ar Khorchin Banner and Ongniud Banner in the Chifeng (Ulankhad) City region, and in Jirin Banner in the Tongliao City region.

Barin is also known as Barin Mongolian, Bayarin, or 巴林 (bālín) in Chinese. Native speakers call it ᠪᠠᠭᠠᠷᠢᠨ (Bağarin) or ᠪᠠᠭᠠᠷᠢᠨ ᠠᠮᠠᠨ ᠠᠶᠠᠯᠭᠤ (Bağarin aman ayalğu).
