Chumburung (Kyo̱ŋbo̱ro̱ŋ)

Chumburung is member of the North Guang branch of the Kwa group of languages. It is spoken by about 69,000 people in the Kpandai District in the Northern Region of Ghana, and also in the town of Yeji in the Pru East District of the Bono East Region of Ghana.

Chumburung is also known as Nchumburung, Kyongborong, Nchimburu or Nchummuru. Dialects include North Chumburung, South Chumburung and Yeji. The Yeji dialect differs significantly from the other dialects.
