Hispakana (ひすぱかな)

Hispakana is a phonetic adaptation of the Japanese Hiragana and Katakana syllabaries specifically designed for Spanish created by Michael Barboto. As Spanish and Japanese share a very similar five-vowel phonological structure, Michael developed a system based on the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) to bridge the gap between the two languages. The main goal is to provide a consistent and aesthetically pleasing way to write Spanish using Kana, while solving the traditional challenges of phonemes that do not exist in Japanese.

Phonetic Accuracy: Distinguishes between the Spanish /l/ and /ɾ/ using the handakuten (ら゚).
Vibrant Consonants: Uses the sokuon (っら) to represent the trill /r/ (RR).
Specific Phonemes: Adaptation of the /ɲ/ (Ñ) using the yōon series (にゃ) and the /θ/ (Z/C) for Peninsular Spanish using handakuten on the S-series.
Accentuation: A dedicated system for marking the Spanish "tilde" (orthographic accent) to preserve word stress.
When consonants are not followed by a vowel, the u versions are used, e.g. どくとる (dokutoru) = doctor
Katakana is used for proper names (non-Hispanic or Hispanic), for recent technical terms, or for emphasis. Hiragana is used for everything else.

All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.
