Sisaali (Sɩsaalɩ)

Sisaali is member of the Southern Gur branch of Niger-Congo language family. It is spoken by about 10,000 people in southern Burkina Faso, particularly in Sissili Province in the Centre-Ouest Region, and in Ioba Province in the Sud-Ouest Region.

Sisaali is also known as Burkina Sisaala or Northern Sisaala. It is closely related to Western Sisaala, Tumulung Sisaala and Paasaal, which are spoken in northern Ghana. These four languages are classified as dialects of Sisaala in some sources, however there is limited mutual intelligibility between them.
