Manado Malay is a Malay Creole with many Dutch and Portuguese loan words spoken mainly in and around Manado, the capital city of the North Sulawesi province of Indonesia. It has around 850,000 speakers and is used mainly as a spoken language - it is rarely written. It is also known as Minahasa Malay, after the Minahasa people, who are the main group who speak this language, or Manadonese.
