Eipo is a member of the Eastern Mek branch of the Trans-New Guinea language family. It is spoken by about 3,000 people along the Eipo River in the Eipumek District of the Pegunungan Bintang Regency in the eastern highlands of Highland Papua Province in eastern Indonesia.
Eipo is also known as Eipomek or Lik, and Eipo speakers call their language Lik or Lik Yupe and themselves nun eipenang ("we, the people of the Eipo River").

Asum-asum nirya nun kwaning ap, yuk ning ap, patasilye touk, ‘Melibuka arepsiminyeba, dobuka dinamabe’ tenen, moropmabe.
Yuk nang arye nunti, malye upsikiba, nun babye namin kinyap touk, ance ton nun malye wininyap ning ati, ‘Namin kibuka, kum kipdeipnamsilam’ tenen, moropkiyabe.
‘Malye upnamak do?’ tenen, ‘Weik ikin winilden ning kum arepnamsilam’ tenen, moropkiyabe. Aning kum bukni, tonda, Pia Malye Uning Deiyoknye, ara Isa Mutuku Dongonye arye, ‘Malye ulisulul anya arye, malye winibibyak’ tenen, ‘Ance kalikuka disimince melinamsilam’ tenen, moropkiyabe. Ayupu nyabuka, Allah moronamlulume.
