Ralte (Râlte Pau)

Ralte is a member of the Northeastern Kuki-Chin branch of the Tibeto-Burman language family. It is spoken by about 900 people in the states of Mizoram, Manipur and Tripura in northeastern India. In particular, it is spoken in the Aizawl District in the north of Mizoram, and also in the Lunglei and Chhimtuipui districts in Mizoram, and in the Jampui Hills in North Tripura District of Tripura, and in Manipur.

Ralte is spoken mainly by older people. Younger people are shifting to Mizo, which is used in education and the media. It can be written with the Latin alphabet.
