Buli

Buli is a Gur language spoken by about 170,000 people mainly in the Builsa North and Builsa South districts in the east of the Upper East Region in northern Ghana.

Buli is also known as Buni, Builsa, Bulisa, Guresha or Kanjaga. Dialects possibly include Chuchuliga. Buli is closely related to Mampruli, which is spoken in northern Ghana, Northern Togo, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast and Mali.

There are a number ways to write Buli with the Latin alphabet. The current orthography was developed bt the Ghana Institute of Linguistics, Literacy & Bible Translation in the 1990s
