Little Lions

This is a song I came up with in April 2021 inspired by all the dandelions growing in my garden. I have given up trying to get rid of them, and this song celebrates their positives attributes.

Dandelions / Dant y llew

Little Lions

There are lots of little lions
lying in the lawn
Smiling at the sun
and looking very fine
With their yellow yellow heads
and their green green leaves
those dandy dandelions
with their deep deep roots

You can try to dig them up
but they'll just pop up again
And their seeds can fly quite high
Right across in the sky
They will grow almost anywhere
in fields and parks and lawns
in cracks and grooves and walls
and even on your roof

You can eat the leaves in salad
and make wine from the flowers
and the roots can be ground
to make a kind of cofffee
They're quite full of vitamins
both A and C
and also iron and phosphorus
and potassium too.

Here's a recording of this song:
