  2. I jegda idoša ko-vostoku solnca, znašli sut' polě v-zemli Sennar i prebyša nanem.
  3. I reče jedin každyj ko-drugu svojemu, "Pojdemo, i nadelajmo plit i spalimo je ognem." I byša im plity v-kamenia mesto i klej v-melu mesto.
  4. I rekoša, "Podte, i včinimo sobě grad i stolp jego že verh dadosiagajet' doněbesi: i včinim slavno imia naše, pervej neželi rozyjdem sia po-vseh zemliah."
  5. I stupil jest Gospod' videti grad i stolp je že činiša synově Adamovy.
  6. I reče, "Sě, jediny sut' liudije, i jedinostajnyj jest jazyk vsem. I počali sut' seje delati i ne prestanut' ot myšlenej sbojh, dondeže i delom ne napolniat'.
  7. "Segodlia, pojdite stupmo i smesim tam jazyk ih, da ne porazumejet' každyj glasu bližne go svojego."
  8. I tako rozdelil jest ih Gospod' stogo mesta po-vseh zemliah, i prestaša staviti grad.
  9. I segoradi nazbano jest imia gradu tomu Smešenije, poněže tu smesilsia jest jazyk vseja zemli, i ot tole rozseal je Gospod' po-vseh stranah.

Ruthenian, or Old Ruthenian was an East Slavic language spoken in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, and later in the East Slavic territories of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth. It is also known as Chancery Slavonic or Old Belarusian.
