Rinconada Bikol (Rinconada)

Rinconada Bikol is a member of the Inland Bikol branch of the Central Philippine language family. It is spoken in the region of Bicol in the southeast of Luzon in the Philippines, particularly in the distict of Rinconada in the province of Camarines Sur. In 2010 there were about 385,000 speakers of Rinconada Bikol.

Rinconada Bikol is also known as Bicol-Rinconada, Bikol-Rinconada, Riŋkonāda, Rinconada or Rinconada Bicolano. There are two dialects: Lowland or Lakeside Rinconada (Sinaranəw) and Highland Rinconada (Sinabukid), each of which has several variants.

Rinconada Bikol has no official status or recognition. There are a few books in and about Rinconada Bikol, including a phrasebook and dictionary.

Namāmaɣow siyā sadtō gilid ku sālog ku nabaretāan niyā na inarādo dayday ku igin niyā su ragâ, dāwâ udâ pa tubig adtoŋ omā nindā.

Translation

He was eating breakfast by the river when he heard news his child ploughed the land again, even as their rice field had not water yet.
